St Leonards Seafront is a short walk from the park, if you fancy a nice walk West Marina Gardens is a must walking through the gardens leads you to the sea front at St Leonards and from there you can walk into Hastings itself.

Hastings has a bustling Town centre with all major stores, as you drive into the Old Town you have a large shingle beach and fresh fish restaurants galore as well as sea food stalls, quirky shops, the pier and amusements and boating lake as well as pitch and putt. Below are some suggestions of great days out.

A short drive away is Camber Sands. This is the local all sand beach which incorporates sand dunes also, why not combine with a day to historic Rye.

Fishermans Museum.

The museum is run by the Fishermans Protection/Old Hastings’s Preservation Society a joint committee. It has been one of the towns most popular free tourist attractions attracting over 14,000 people a year. It is located inside a church where you can view models, nets, fishing artefacts, photos, paintings and one of the last luggers what is a Sailing fishing boat.

Smugglers Adventure:

Located in the West Hill, deep in the heart of Hastings lies the themed attraction ‘Smugglers Adventure’. With many life size figures, eerie sounds, dramatic lighting and a few surprises. Here you can learn about the history of warring groups, smugglers and bootleggers.

Blue Reef Aquarium:

Only a short drive from the park with ample parking behind the centre, this fascinating insight into what lies & lives below our ocean. A fun filled visit learning about marine environment with several hands on demo’s during the day. With 40 naturally recreated displays, you can come close with lots of sea life to include giant crabs, tropical sharks, lobsters & sea horses.

Hastings County Park and Nature Reserve

Feeling energetic then this is for you. The cliffs form the largest area of the high weald edge that meets the sea. If you are into bird watching, you can see Pereguins, Redstarts and Fulmars breeding within the cliffs. Within the woodland areas dormice, stoats and weasels can regularly be seen. From the various cliff top watch points Bottlenose Dolphins and Harbour Porpoise can be seen also.

Drusilla’s zoo:

Situated just half an hour from the park on the A27 at Alfiston is this award winning zoo. Voted the top attraction in ‘Sussex With Children’ and listed 12th in Sunday Times 50 Best Days Out In Britain.

Druisillas is not only a zoo with hundreds of animals/creatures but also has 2 separate outside play areas for younger children (Go Bananas) and older (Go Wild), also a jungle themed indoor soft play area (Amazon Adventure). Thomas The Tank Engine runs daily train services throughout your visit. Regular events run through the year, Catering & Shops on site, and much more.
